Do you have old textbooks that you won't be using anymore? Want to clear them but don't know how? Fret not! On the 24th and 25th of October, which is this coming Wednesday and Thursday, the Environment Club will be organising a collection for old textbooks! By donating your old textbooks, you don't only get to clear them, but you are also doing your part for charity! :)
Head down to the recycling corner during recess, where our members will be stationed at! Do take note that the books should be in good condition! :)
We hope to see you there!

Ink Cartridge/Toner Recycling Bin!
Hey Cedarians!
We now have a new recycling bin at the recycling corner which is solely meant for old, used ink cartridges! From now on, every time you finish using an ink cartridge, be sure to bring it to school to deposit it at the recycling corner! :)
Let's continue to save the Earth in our little ways!

Silver Award for Community In Bloom
Great news, everyone! :)
Our LUSH garden has won the silver award for the Community In Bloom competition under the New Garden category.
Before the Environment Club was established, LUSH garden was previously a herbs and spices garden, where the harvests would be used for the Home Economics classes. But now, it's a garden full of different flowers and plants.
We would like to thank all the members for their time, labour and patience as well as Cedarians who have helped in one way or another. Your efforts have definitely paid off and we hope to see the garden grow as time passes. :D
Once again, congratulations to Cedar and the Environment Club!

Update!
It has been a very busy year for the Environment Club members.
We welcomed the five new members that have joined us this year.
Our Vision for the Club is : Every Cedarian is an Environment Champion.
The Mission is : Think Green, Act Green.
We have been actively involved in the Cedar 123 Project 5Rs Projects to encourage more Cedarians and staff to take a more active role in protecting and caring for the environment. We have also proudly completed our new CIB garden and given it a name - LUSH. Many Lower Secondary students have also taken the initiative to start their own environmental projects.
The video is a summary of the Environment Club's commitment and dedication to cherishing our environment.

Plastic Bag Collection
Hi!
We have received results on our school's performance in the contribution of plastic bags in the record breaking attempt - World's Largest Plastic Bag Ball Sculpture.
We would like to thank all Cedarians for your contribution as well as putting in effort to gather as many plastic bags as possible in such a short period of time. Over a span of a few weeks, we managed to collect 3516 plastic bags, which means each student has contributed about 2.7 plastic bags. This is our first time taking part in such an event and we are proud to announce that our school has emerged 6th among other schools in Singapore.
Gan Eng Seng School, which collected a total of 40856 plastic bags (average of 34 plastic bags collected per student), emerged first. We hope Cedarians would be more motivated in striving to do better in our green efforts and we believe that we can make a difference.
Once again, a big thank you to all Cedarians who have participated actively in the event, earning ourselves such a glorious achievement!
